About Mary

Hello, my name is Mary and I want to welcome you to my web site. Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself and what is going on. I am 18 years old and have been suffering from a highly painful disease. Although we’ve been to many doctors, they have yet to fully diagnose or even effectively treat my condition. I am no longer able to walk, stand or fully sit without being in severe pain. I can’t stand to have my legs touched due to the pain, and am unable to move from the waist down.

Mary Remotti I was an active 16 year old just weeks away from driving. Working with animals on farms, and rabbits at home were fun times for me, horses and cows being my true passion.  I was an active member on the Windsor Locks Fire Department Explorer post and loved responding to calls and attending drills. I was that kid that just participated in as much as I could. A lot of the time, you would find me out with friends or at school working on various projects. Now, I am not able to get out bed without someone picking me up and putting me in my wheelchair and screaming at the person the whole time because I don’t want to be up due to the high amounts of pain I feel.

Since this situation started, my entire family and I have been fighting to find out what is wrong and what we can do about it. We started in Hartford, Connecticut were I was hospitalized several times, some stays lasting weeks, to seeing doctors in New York state were I was hospitalized for three very long months. We have also tried different doctors and hospitals from Boston to Pennsylvania, but so far we have had no luck.

My biggest thing is that I am now 18 and not only can I not walk anymore but I am beginning to think I never will, and that I am going to be stuck like this forever. I frequently have the dream that one day I will get up and start walking again. So far I have spent my entire senior year in high school lying in a bed unable to move around, instead of out with friends or doing anything other than this!

I am asking that if you think you might be able to help me in anyway, either directly or indirectly please contact myself or a family member through the contact us page. Maybe you or someone you know has gone through something similar that may be able to point me in a successful direction. Doctors, medical lawyers, insurance specialists are also people who we can learn from! Thank you for visiting please visit again soon!

Sincerely,

Mary Remotti
